tono is a coach that reads your draft and suggests a better version before you send it. here's the short version of how your writing is treated.
your drafts
- on iphone, rewrites run on your device first. if your phone can't do that, or you pick a cloud rewrite, the draft goes to tono's rewrite service and comes back with suggestions
- on the web composer, a draft stays in your browser until you hit rewrite
- your writing is not used to train models
- we don't track who you write to, when, or what about - and we don't touch your contacts or calendar
how i sound
how i sound is your voice profile: a few preferences (life stage if you want, tone chips, humor likes and dislikes, one real example of you at your best). on pro it rides along with every rewrite so the suggestions sound like you. it's your taste on file - not your messages, not who you talk to.
what we keep (pro)
- your email, for receipts
- your subscription tier, to unlock pro
- counts of cloud rewrites, to keep the service running and prevent abuse
who helps us run it
stripe handles web checkout, the app store handles ios subscriptions, revenuecat keeps subscription state in sync, and supabase stores your account. their privacy policies cover their side. we don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
subscribing
tono pro comes with a 14-day free trial, then $3.99/month or $39.99/year. cancel anytime from your account page or your apple id subscriptions - it just works, no hoops. your card details never touch tono.
deleting your stuff
email privacy@tonoit.com and your account and everything attached to it is gone within 7 days.
